ART.AND … ‘An Autumn Amble’
This stunning autumn art event saw over a thousand visitors enjoying an amble through the gallery and its garden in the beautiful autumn weather to interact with our talented artists and take in our huge array of stunning, original artworks. Stuart Weir had masses of recycled metal flowers filling the garden beds as well as large rusty sculptures while Jim Green had produced a beautiful array of Australian birds made from recycled cutlery which could be discovered perched all over the garden.
Sally Howe’s stunning black and white ceramics delighted the crowds as did Clare Oliver’s huge photographs, some featuring her recent trip to Ethiopia.
Jill Davis had a constant file of ladies trying on her magnificent hand- made pieces of gold and silver jewellery while the gallery itself was a riot of colour featuring hundreds of fabulous Merilyn Chappel paintings.
This was our first time hosting an event in autumn rather than summer or spring – and we will do it again as visitors seemed to enjoy an inspiring amble in the autumn sunshine.
